“Roll Me Away”
This stainless steel motorcycle was built for the 2007 Minneapolis Aquatennial Sculpture Contest. Participants were given one hour to traverse the scrap yard to find metal pieces they would use to create their artwork in a six week time period.
The gas tank is made from multiple L shaped pieces I welded together and polished out.  The seat is spring mounted. The wheels roll effortlessly and the handlebars turn as well.
I won 1st place in the sculpture contest with this piece.
Sculpture can be unbolted from base.

50” long x 22”round base x 29” tall.

Stainless Road Grader
The idea for this came after a lucky find in the scrap bin at a local sheet metal shop. The pieces the wheels are made from were ordered wrong and discarded, so I was able to attain them for scrap price. As I staged them in different ways I came upon the shape you see here. The rest is history.
This piece includes a 17” stainless steel blade that rotates and goes up and down manually. The front wheels also turn, however the sculpture does not roll.

The idea for this came to me many years ago. As a kid I was always fascinated by the tall drag line cranes that operated in the sand pits near my parents home. I thought for sure I would own and operate one by the time I was 18 but plans made with a child’s mind are always a little far fetched.
